class focused on exploring a variety of typographic formats and products. Much of the class is centered around the history and creation of zines. Objective: Design, print, and bind, a 16-page zine, the content of which should be made up of 4–6 “recipes”. For this assignment I could define “recipe” in a straightforward way and include a list of ingredients and instructions for cooking or baking, or I could consider the term in a more broad sense. For example, my zine could include recipes for the perfect vacation outfits, or recipes for a successful Animal Crossing Island. Product: For my recipe selection, I chose to look back on my time spent living abroad in Wellington, New Zealand, selecting 5 meals I remembered fondly and writing out step-by-step instructions for each. When the volunteer committee running it approached me to design the informational program given to attendees, it was an opportunity I knew I had to take.&nbsp; I designed two promotional posters for the tournament the following year. Objective: Create an informational, easily digestible, and aesthetically pleasing program. This program includes full team rosters, sponsor messages, and organizer statements. The two posters needed to serve separate roles, one announcing a change of location, and the other serving as an open call for artists to submit artwork for future use. Product: The final result is a 44-page document, which was printed and distributed to hundreds of tournament-goers. I had previously designed the album artwork for releases of his, and this was the largest undertaking yet. To match the large scale of this musical release, the creation of not only the album cover, but promotional instagram posts was similarly complex. Objective: Create an album cover, back cover, and series of promotional instagram posts. Product: Through direct work with the artist, as well as photographers, videographers, and writers, I was able to create a collection of work to properly portray the artists vision. This process included taking and editing photos, filming and being filmed in music videos, and designing multiple covers and promotional images. I ended up making numerous posters, posts, and logos. In college I have focused on designing for student athletic organizations. Objective: Create easily understandable, eye-catching, and visually appealing content to help grow and improve the various organizations.
